The Satchwell Centre is the home of Coventry Gang Show where young people from the scouting community of Coventry rehearse for their annual show. It is also used by local community for meetings, arts & crafts and other facilities for young people.
The building is mainly used for Gang Show rehearsals which is performed at the Belgrade theatre in Coventry by Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and their leaders every year. Rehearsals are about to get underway for the 2012 show.
The premises is also used by the local young people for meetings and other community activities.
Along with members of Coventry's scouting community who use the building for rehearsing for the show every year, we also have regular visitors from the local community who use the premises for meetings and arts and craft sessions for young people.
The £6000 would be spent on getting a new floor in the main hall. It is currently laid with brick tiles, however it is in much need of replacing as it gets very slippery when in use and we would preferably like to replace it with a wooden floor so it is much safer environment for all users.
